I don't know I could get the same points with my classmates from the video.
The problems he had experienced is that he suddenly failed from the "line of success" which he had thought it is the only way of success at first. The reason of why he failed is he said that he felt he can make it or don't need any more improvement and so after that he stopped working hard and went back to relax.

If this is a argumentative essay, thesis statement might be like....we should do the things what we want to. It shouldn't be the meaning we have to do because if it has a meaning of like that, we can be failed easily due to the feeling of depression.
Even though he became rich, he felt depress so if we could do what we want to leads to the dramatic success ever after all.

I still didn't get the meaning of thesis statement so it's probably wrong but I felt the passion is important from this video and when he changed his mind from "line of success" to "circle of success"=continuous journey, I felt like I have many choices and chances to be a success.

Marshmallow

I never knew that endurance we had experienced in childhood will influence our future. It's good thing to learn endurance when we were children because if we didn't, we will be in trouble in the future like break a promise many times or only think about oneself and so on.

When I think about what is my marshmallow, I couldn't imagine any.
However, I know I can endure and self-control so thinking about the situation I have to endure something like it could be exams or things which has influence on my worries and could be the things I decide to promise myself like rules, I tend to put up with watching TV or YouTube on the Internet and try hard to achive my goals.

I don't know still what things could be my marshmallow but similar situation with Video is like this I think.

Internet

I often use the Internet to check my e-mails and also listen to new music through YouTube for relax. When I have some assignments to do, I use the Internet to get enough information to write for reports or just checking the things I'm interested in or something like that. I also use face book but I didn't do check it more than a year so the picture on my face book looks so young I think.

Anyway, Internet is so useful to communicate with friends and get much information everyone want to know quickly. Compared with past, this development of technology is amazing so almost everyone can't believe their life without it and from that, most of us are dependant on it.

Some people say we are too dependant on the Internet but it has many merits like saving time, much new information, lots of visual aids, easy to search, you know, something like that so it's going to be hard to change this style we already used to.
It's part of our life yet.

Multitasking

I tried hard to do all my end-of semester tasks such as final tests, writing reports and presentations. Sometimes I had to do them at the same time and really got confused which subjects should I think about first.

About final exams, I often had been rewriting the contents of each classes in my notes at home from beginning of the class to remind me what I learned so it helps me a little bit during test week.

However, it's hard to start if writing reports and presentations are same time. I know I should do something and get done each one surely but when I was working on one task, I just can not stop to think about the other tasks. It seems that causing a vicious circle going round and round. Well...right now, I'm kind of such situations.

It's not easy for teachers to solve this problems because each students have different classes and not many of them are same condition so I think I had to think about it more seriously and have to make it on my own somehow...though I need someone's advice when I had troubles.

Short Film

I watched the 1st one "New Boy". This is about a African boy who had haunting back story came to a school in Ireland.

At first, he looked unhappy to fit in that school because of the difference of their school customs and his, some children's attitude towards him and also his sad past. All of this were kind of mixed inside him and made him hard to get along with I guess.

From this film, I thought everyone feel uncomfortable at first like him and reminded me of the first day at school in Kwansei University but we can get it over somehow. It isn't easy problem for children to adults and this occurs many times in our lives. This was a good film to sympathize anyway.

In addition, I felt it's difficult to listen their English because the accent? was different that I used to hear. For example, one boy said "Miss, Seth Quinn threw me book out the window." or something like that. Just one word's change made it hard to understand.

Mobile Communication Etiquette

I think if people who use their cellphones properly in public, it is acceptable like not phoning someone loudly in trains or buses. What I mean is using cellphone with considering other people is good enough.

In addition,there are generation gaps between the young, adults and elderly people. The young and adults are used to having own cellphones and most of them are expert at using it. When they are asked about cellphone, they tend to answer its merit and how strongly they are dependent on it.
While these younger ones have affirmative opinions, many elderly people are negative position.

Older people state how this mobile phones made them confused and inconvenient because it takes long time to understand how to use it and send e-mails due to lack of their ability. That's because they lived since the time when there was not much high quality of technology as well as today. They might be hard to get used to it but it is useful to communicate and in other aspects.

So, from above, what are important when using cellphones are reasonableness in public and also politeness for other people.

The country I want to visit

It's Italy!!
I have 1 strong reason for that why I want to visit there.

One day, when I was watching TV, it told about famous spots, foods, trends and so on in Italy. Well...I do not remember all of that information but one of the famous spots had a great impact on me. It is called "blue cave". I don't know if many of you know this but it is so beautiful as I can't forget about it since then. When people entered into the cave and can see the blight blue color with sunshine from the small cave's entrance. Even though I saw it through TV, I was really impressed and made me think that I should go there strongly. That's quite a big reason for choosing the country I want to visit one day.

Also, if I went to Italy, it is easy to visit other European area such as France, Germany or other countries in those location because of the closeness between country and country.

In addition, the food in Italy is so yummy. Imagine the delicious pizza and pasta with thick sauce, cheese and so on. That made us hungry, eh?

Anyway, from those reasons, I want to go to Italy seriously.

Media which impacted on my life

There is a song called "oshakashama" by Radwimps which remind me what we human are actually doing compared with god like deciding which animals we should kill or gain when some diseases caused and lack of rare animals made our mind and behavior change to let them alive. When I was taking Christianity class, most of the time god decides everything.(in my image though)

However, thinking in real world, what actually we are doing? We cut many trees to make something better for our lives, kill animals if they have disease and make our lives safe, make many roads to improve our lives more convenient and so on. I just wanna say like most of Christians admire god and worship but what we are doing is actually same with god. From that, it made me think what we are today. This changed my mind from thinking ourselves to thinking other creatures more seriously.

I'm so bad at organizing things so it's hard to understand for you I guess. Anyway, I just wrote about the media which impacted on me but lots of other things are influence.

Version 2

From last week's class, I learned culture belief difference between Japan and America. In Japan, we don't usually drink green tea with sugar in it so that most of Japanese never tried and even thinking in that way. However, American want what they want like they want to have a right to choose so simply speaking, we, Japanese think about other people or social common sense and concerned about it but most of Americans think what they want or what they choose more strongly.

As I said before this post, I think culture belief difference effect in social, relationships and even character. I gave am example such as telephoning to someone who is higher status or title. I felt like many Japanese think making difference is shameful and have negative images so we tend to be same with anyone else. This makes us think we should defend our culture and teach foreigners if they made some mistakes or something like that. But compared with Japan, American think to be different from others is best way to be known by other people so they tend to express themselves more openly. From that, They have more positive images.
These are my images and what I learned and felt from class.

For me, it's difficult to summarize what I learned simply so maybe I made many of you confuse...?

Invisible and visible culture

In Japan, I think everyone know its hierarchy in society because as you know most of the Japanese show respect for seniors. We do have title so that have to call it like if the person is teacher, we have to call him like professor something and also Japanese tend to follow senior's idea as possible as we could.

Another example is that the way of telephoning to someone but I don't think many people do this, I just thought some do this unconsciously. In a situation like when telephone to the person who works with you for you part-time job, some seem to show respect even they cannot see each other such as bowing a little bit and nodding many times.

Above all are kind of invisible culture, that is the way of Japanese think;the tacit agreement. Compared with another country such as America or Canada or wherever, All teachers for example call each other their names but in Japan, they do not call each other their names.

Well...these are mostly my images so that maybe it wasn't right but surely, some people are doing this. So, Japanese invisible culture;hierarchy appear visibly such as their behavior.

My goals

In short term, I want to read the English books as many as I could for improving my English reading. To improve it, I should read more books than last semester over 100 I think....maybe.
But there is a little bit of problem to achieve that goal because this semester, I have to read above level 3 so that I could not finish within one day. It took me about 2 to 3 days and high level's book made me bored and tired easily.
When I thought that I can't read any more that day, I just stop and get some rest then start whenever I feel comfortable to read again. That's the best way to continue reading I found out.

In long term, my goal is to learn many languages by myself such as Italian, German, Spanish and French. Also, I want to continue studying Chinese as my second language.
To achieve my goal, I should borrow some books which are in language communication center in G building. They have tons of them and I could borrow them about 2 weeks so It's longer than library.
Well...learning different languages are difficult though. That's because there is nobody who tells me it is wrong or right when I had a trouble and also it's hard to speak as native without teacher. Anyway, whatever challenges happen, I just try hard to do my best to achieve my goals!!
